Thanks so much for your interest in music lessons with Jesse Brewster!
For more than 20 years I’ve been an independent contractor, working as a musician, teacher and recording artist. To ensure that things run smoothly I’ve outlined the expectations for lesson scheduling, cancellation, fees and payment. Please read through these guidelines to ensure that you understand the agreed upon :
Scheduling:
Lesson length: I offer weekly lessons which are typically 30, 45, or (on occasion) 60 minutes in length.
Lesson locations: lessons can be in person at my studio in San Rafael, remote via Google Meet, Facetime, or Zoom, or in your home (please note in-home lessons are billed at a higher rate).
If you are on a school vacation schedule (Winter, Thanksgiving, Midwinter, Spring Break, Summer), you will not be charged unless you opt to take lessons during these times.
Payment policy:
Payment schedule: Lessons are charged on a monthly basis based on the number of weeks in the month. Payment for the month is due at the first lesson of the month. I will send out a payment reminder for the next month at the end of each month.
Payment types accepted: Payment can be made by check or cash (*preferred with a monthly discount), Zelle, and some instances Venmo.
Trial period: the first 2 lessons are a trial period to make sure we both think it's a good fit.
Cancellations:
In the event of doctors appointments, illness, trips/vacations (outside of the outlined school breaks listed above), field trips, etc. I will do my best to find a time to reschedule your lesson within the same week and based on my availability. I do not offer credits or issue refunds if we are unable to find a mutually agreeable time to reschedule.
Discontinuing lessons: please give me at least 2 weeks notice if you and your child decide you don’t wish to continue lessons. If I fill your slot with another student sooner, I will let you know.
I am as flexible as I can possibly be to accommodate your individual situation, and will always try my best to work with you on scheduling, payment schedules, etc.
All of that out of the way, let’s get to learning!
